SLIC - House of Knowledge

Sunder Library and Information Centre (SLIC) was established to create social mobility opportunities and resources for children and young people in the village of Littran to improve their socioeconomic standing, regardless of their family background.

The initiative also seeks to protect underprivileged children from exposure to criminal exploitation, by providing them with a safe and productive learning space to broaden their horizons and nurture their aspirations.

We focus upon education and training to develop and enhance the lives of people in the local community and support them to advance through life with confidence.

SLIC is a safe space to remove barriers and provide opportunities to those most in need. As a registered charity, we rely heavily on donations to fund the centre for the benefit of all generations.

What We Do

Education is the most powerful tool for personal development—yet for many in Littran, it remains out of reach. SLIC exists to –

✔ Empower through free access to books, computers, and learning programmes

✔ Improve literacy, numeracy, creative thinking, and social interaction skills to build self-esteem and confidence

✔ Inspire with mentorship, guidance, and hands-on training

✔ Protect children from exposure to crime and exploitation by providing a safe after-school haven and quiet study areas

Sunder Library and Information Centre is a registered charity with the UK Charities Commission (Registered Charity Number – 1195684).
