In the heart of Littran, Punjab, the Sunder Library and Information Centre (SLIC) is more than just a building—it’s a beacon of hope and security. Founded in 2014 by Ram Lal, our charity provides a safe, nurturing space where underprivileged children and young people can learn, dream, and grow.
Many children in Littran face obstacles—limited access to education, economic hardship and inequality, and the risk of exploitation. SLIC breaks down these barriers by offering free educational resources, mentorship, and a sanctuary where young minds can flourish.
Project building work began in 2018, and since opening our doors in 2022, we’ve been a lifeline for the community, offering books, technology, skill-building workshops, and a supportive environment—all designed to help the children and young people in Littran rise above their circumstances and build a better future.
Sunder Library and Information Centre obtained official registered charity status from the UK Charities Commission in December 2021 (Registered Charity Number 1195684).

Our Charity
Since the Centre opened in 2018, we have faced many challenges due to COVID-19 and the ever-changing situation. Education and other learning opportunities have been disrupted for many during this time, and now are needed more than ever.
Sunder Library and Information Centre provides access to learning, training, and personal wellbeing. We provide teacher-led sessions, books and internet, formal and recreational spaces accessible to all.
We believe that everyone has the right to education and need your help to make that vision a reality.
